Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 diced yellow onion
- 1 small diced ginger root
- 1/4 cup butter (1/2 stick)
- 1 Tbsp ground ginger
- 2 cloves garlic
- 3 pounds of diced chicken breast
- 1/4 cup of yogurt
- 1 1/4 cup half & half (or heavy cream)
- 2 Tbsp garam masala
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 12 oz canned tomato sauce
- 3 Tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Step 1- Dice yellow onion and brown with garlic in oil
- Step 2- add diced ginger and butter
- Step 3- Once butter is melted, add chicken and cook until brown
- Step 4- Mix in garam masala, chili powder, salt, pepper, and lemon juice until chicken is cooked
- Step 5- Mix in tomato sauce and tomato paste, add yogurt and half & half until a red-orange color is achieved
- Step 6- Season to taste (sometimes add more garam masala for a drier flavor)
- Step 7- (Optional) serve with rice or naan bread, top with diced tomatoes and feta
